Sometimes...

… things just work. Something I’ve been meaning to do for a while is ensure that Robyn can easily see my Calendar.app calendar(s), and vice versa. I knew in theory that I could set up the local Apache instance to serve it out via WebDav, I just hadn’t gotten around to it in my Copious Spare Time.

Fortunately, Greg Westin has written up simple and accurate instructions for doing exactly what I needed. A few minutes banging away following his notes, and the solution Just Works. In fact two things Just Worked in this scenario: Westin’s notes, and Google quickly taking me to them.

Hooray. One more thing to move from the “In” box to the “Out” box.

Back to the 70's

A fabulous snippet here from John Howe, who did about half of the design on the lord of the rings movies, and was/is one of the founding members of Compagnie of st george. Highly recommended reading.

On a completely different note, or the first of two, happy birthday to Isobel.

And the second note: for no readily apparent reason I’m now receiving spam trying to sell me fake Bulgari watches. I guess it’s a change from viagra.

Invalid Local Government

Pine Rivers Shire Council has a new website . Very pretty, and generally in the corporate colours. Only about a dozen photos of Aunty Yvonne.

Too bad that the front page alone has 610 HTML errors. I dread to think how much it cost we poor ratepayers, but the least we could expect, surely, is some attempt at making it correct as well as making it look good?

Addendum: I do like the fact that they’ve put their library catalogue and reservation system on-line.
