Canberra

We’ve just spent two days in Canberra, throbbing heart of this Mighty Nation of ours. Fittingly it was very dry, generally brown, and freezing cold.

I spent alomst the entire time in offices, but Robyn got out and about a lot, and went to the NGA, the old Parliment House, and the Museum, as well as spending quite a lot of time walking near the lake.

We also got out to dinner at Corque in Manuka, which was very nice. Anyhow, photos are available below…

The only photos I got were taken when we walked from the hotel to Parliment House and back, via a big church - St John’s? Some of the good ones are available at Flickr in roughly the order of my walk.

Parliment house garden - I actually thought the gardens were more attactive than parliment itself, and I’ve never seen photos of them. They were large enought that you could spend hours wandering around them, and seem to be studded with unknown and uncelebrated sculptures:
