Went with Robyn for our Anniversary up to the woodshow at Maleny, thence Le Relais Bressan for lunch, where rabbit pie was eaten. Photos of some aspects of this below.

Shadecloth Mark II

Craft

I began making the new shadecloth to go over the kitchen that Jessica and I discussed. It will be roughly 3m square, in yellow and burgundy stripes, with dags at the front.

Summer Coffee

Went to breakfast this morning. There was coffee and graffiti. Then went to Supanova where there were crowds and Summer Glau. Photos below.

A lot of shots I took today were at an extreme zoom - 8 or 10 x - which revealed that my hand is trembling enough while doing zoom shots to bugger them up. I shall need to look into a solution for that.

Canberra

[12:59 PM]
News

We’ve just spent two days in Canberra, throbbing heart of this Mighty Nation of ours. Fittingly it was very dry, generally brown, and freezing cold.

I spent alomst the entire time in offices, but Robyn got out and about a lot, and went to the NGA, the old Parliment House, and the Museum, as well as spending quite a lot of time walking near the lake.

We also got out to dinner at Corque in Manuka, which was very nice. Anyhow, photos are available below…

The only photos I got were taken when we walked from the hotel to Parliment House and back, via a big church - St John’s? Some of the good ones are available at Flickr in roughly the order of my walk.

But to amuse and tease, here’s an extract of that set:

The church whose name we don’t know:

Parliment House:

Parliment house garden - I actually thought the gardens were more attactive than parliment itself, and I’ve never seen photos of them. They were large enought that you could spend hours wandering around them, and seem to be studded with unknown and uncelebrated sculptures:
